The Basics of Craps
Craps is a dice game that is popular around the world, particularly in the United States. It is also quite popular in Tunisia, although the rules and regulations differ slightly from those of other countries. In Tunisia, the game is known as “Crapeau” and is a popular pastime for many locals. Players place bets on the outcome of rolling two dice. The goal of the game is to make a point total before getting a seven.
The game of Craps is usually played with four players. Each player has their own dice, which they roll in turn. The player’s rolls are compared against the roll of the “house” dice. Whoever has the larger total wins the round.
To start a round, the shooter (the player who is rolling the dice) must make a “pass” or “come” bet. A pass bet is a bet that the shooter will make a point total before rolling a seven. A come bet is a bet that the shooter will make a point total after rolling a seven. Once the come bet has been made, the shooter can then roll the dice.
If the shooter rolls a seven or eleven on the first roll, the pass or come bet wins. If the shooter rolls a two, three, or twelve, the pass or come bet loses. If any other number is rolled, the shooter has made a “point” and must roll the dice again. If the shooter rolls the same number as the point, the pass or come bet wins. If the shooter rolls a seven, the pass or come bet loses.
